Greeley's very own Colorado Grit is the state's first ever junior team in the North American Hockey League. On September 8, 2023, they kicked off their inaugural season, right here at the Greeley Recreation Ice Haus!
In honor of their opening weekend, and in recognition of the service the team plans to provide to our community and all of Northern Colorado, Mayor Gates proclaimed Sept. 8, 2023, to be Colorado GRIT day.
On their social media channels, the team responded, "Thank you to Mayor John Gates and the entire City Council for recognizing what we are trying to accomplish in Northern Colorado. This is just the beginning!"
