Greeley is a community that strives for lifelong learning. This summer, there are many opportunities for youth to explore areas of interest such as arts and technology.  Local organizations and businesses, including City of Greeley Recreation, University of Northern Colorado, Aims Community College, Poudre Learning Center and Code Ninjas, offer programs in 2021.

Greeley Recreation Summer Programming

Greeley Recreation is offering special programming for youth this June and July. Join Greeley Rec for in-person sessions at the Greeley Recreation Center (link) and Family FunPlex (link). In addition, other sessions are offered virtually. Topics include Pastel Drawing Workshop Ocean Life, Anime & Manga Drawing Workshop, Pokémon Master Engineering with LEGO, and much more.

University of Northern Colorado: Summer Enrichment Program
UNC offers several opportunities for youth in the summer.

The Young Child Program serves children ages 4 and 5 and those entering grades 1-4. The program addresses children’s early educational and social needs who are gifted, talented, and creative.

Summer Enrichment Program is a two-week program through the University of Northern Colorado consisting of high-interest, hands-on, brains-on courses for gifted, talented, and creative students entering grades 5 through 10. Class topics include musical improvisation, dramatic writing, improv, superheroes and society, robotics, stained glass, rocketry, and more.

College for Kids at Aims
Aims Community College has been offering College for Kids since 1981.  College for Kids provides a unique, educational and fun summer experience for students ages 9 to 15 years old by providing an opportunity to “go to college.  The 4-day Greeley program runs from June 28 through July 1.  Topics include areas such as robotics, television production, agriculture, coding, theater, and more. Registration is now closed for the 2021 program, but keep this program in mind for 2022.  Classes fill up fast.

Poudre Learning Center Science In Nature Camp
The Poudre Learning Center’s Science in Nature Camp is a summer science investigation program for middle school students. Students will experience what it is like to be a scientist through different activities and projects at the Poudre Learning Center during the program. Students gather for four days to be introduced to explorations and challenges in art, science, and math.

Code Ninjas
At Code Ninjas Greeley, kids learn to code by building their very own video games. In addition, coding programs for kids make it easy for parents with convenient drop-in hours on weeknights and weekends. In these classes, kids learn to code while building their own video games.  In the process partisipants, gain valuable skills, such as critical problem-solving, confidence, and more, in a fun, safe environment.
